Five Points Fire Company Proudly Announces the Appointment of Allen Nutter as 17-Captain-2

Wilmington, DE – The Five Points Fire Company, a cornerstone of safety in Wilmington, is excited to announce the unexpected yet thoroughly deserved appointment of Allen Nutter to the esteemed position of 17-Captain-2. Chief Thomas Manley, known for his impeccable judgment and occasional whimsy, has drafted Mr. Nutter into this role, turning the tables on recent eligibility decisions.

Allen Nutter, previously ruled out for the position of Deputy 17 earlier this month, has made what can only be described as a Hollywood-style comeback. Known for his tenacity and a touch of charming stubbornness, Nutter proved that like a phoenix rising from Delaware's culinary pride of scrapple, nothing keeps a good man down for long.

As 17-Captain-2, Nutter pledges to bring a new era of disciplined response to Station 17. His primary focus will be to ensure that all responses are strictly to dispatched calls only, maintaining the harmony of sirens in the night. He is committed to the idea that Station 17 will not 'jump' any calls, adhering religiously, almost fanatically, to the SOPs and SOGs. It's rumored that he might even implement a 'SOP Hymn' to be sung every morning.

Expanding on his role as a volunteer captain, Allen plans to steer the ship with a firm hand and a rule book in the other. His upcoming work includes a revolutionary training program titled "How Not to Accidentally Become a Fire Truck Enthusiast," aimed at increasing efficiency and decreasing unscheduled pit stops at fire truck conventions.

Under his watchful eye, the residents of Richardson Park can sleep soundly, knowing their safety is in the hands of a man who once said, "If I can handle the heat of my mother-in-law's cooking, I can handle anything." Nutter's dedication to community safety is only matched by his commitment to never let Station 17 become the "Oops, we did it again" of fire responses.

In a statement, Nutter humorously remarked, "I may not have been the first choice for Deputy 17, but like the last slice of pizza at a firehouse, I am surprisingly satisfying."

Let’s make Maryland Ave great again.

I’m looking forward to a year of success, happyness, and only going on calls that we are dispatched and due on.

Thinking about jumping that box? Think again.

Allen Nutter, Former 17-9E, Current 17-Capt-2
